Every point starts with a serve, followed by the return, but it's crucial to understand the significance of these shots. They play a vital role in determining the outcome of the point, either placing you in advantageous positions or concluding the point swiftly. The depth of both the serve and the return is key. Strive for a deep serve and a deep return.
When it comes to the return of serve, focus on keeping it deep while maintaining control. Avoid hitting it too hard, as this may hinder your ability to reach the net in time. Oh, and try to aim for the middle of the court to increase your margin of error.
If you want to target a specific player, you have two options: focusing on the weaker player to exploit their potentially weaker third shots, or going for the stronger player to keep them at bay and minimize their poaching or offensive plays.
Try drilling these shots with a partner and watch your game improve.

It sounds like it’s not just celebrities and athletes joining the pickleball party. Big-name brands are also flocking in one after another.
Major League Pickleball (MLP) recently announced a deal with Toyota which will extend through 2023. Toyota has secured the title of MLP's first exclusive auto partner, with their all-new 2023 Toyota Prius taking center stage. Along with courtside logo branding, Toyota will offer interactive games, giveaways, and be the official sponsor of MLP's exhilarating tiebreaker format called the Dreambreaker.
“It is extremely exciting to add Toyota as MLP’s first official auto partner, further enhancing our rapidly growing strategic business relationships,” said Steve Kuhn, MLP Founder.
MLP also added on a few other big brands marking a significant expansion in the league's brand partnerships. This includes OS1st, Sunday Swagger, and Imperial. This brings MLP's total number of official brand partners to 16, showing impressive growth from last year. The collaboration will kick off at MLP SAN CLEMENTE from June 15 to 19.

1- The APP, the leading organization for pickleball players, has announced that Sunmed, the Official CBD and Hemp Product Partner of the APP, will be the title sponsor of the 2023 APP Sunmed St. Louis Open. The tournament will take place at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in Forest Park, with 40 pickleball courts and a featured Stadium Court for broadcast on CBS Sports Network.
2- USA Pickleball, the National Governing Body, partners with Pickleball United, known for its innovative True Court flooring system. True Court, a rollable acrylic surface, offers consistent bounce and exceptional cushioning. It is also the Official Court Partner for the APP and MLP, addressing the demand for quality pickleball courts in various settings. This partnership meets a crucial need in the sport by providing non-skid and cushioned courts for players.
