Battle Over Courts:
Residents in west Seattle are opposing Seattle Parks and Recreation's plan to convert six old tennis courts into pickleball courts in Lincoln Park. They argue that the proposed pickleball courts will negatively impact the park's natural areas and local wildlife.
The group has collected 35,000 signatures on a petition requesting the courts be relocated. While Seattle Parks and Recreation previously stated there was no opportunity for public engagement, they are now addressing questions from concerned residents.

Both sports showed potential health benefits, with participants reaching peak heart rates of about 70% of their max heart rate during workouts. Pickleball sessions lasted slightly longer, while tennis had more time in high-intensity heart rate zones. Pickleball workouts gained popularity, surpassing tennis, and Utah recorded the most pickleball workouts per capita. Both sports appealed to various age groups and were more popular among men than women.
